I am a black woman with very thick long hair what would be a good medium hairstyle?

If your hair is curly, ask your stylist for angled layers. This will help tame the frizz. If it's straight, ask your stylist to use a razor after the main cut. The razor will take out some bulk so your hair lies flatter.

The main thing is to find a good hairdresser who you can trust and communicate very well with. He/she will know what's best for your hair. Cut out some styles that you like and bring it to your stylist. He/she will copy it to the best of their ability while still accomodating the style to your hair type.

What is a good short to medium hairstyle for an oblong face?

My face is quite long, about 21 cm. My cheek bones aren't wider than my jaw or forehead, but they are visible.

My jaw and forehead are the same length across(about 13 cm).

So, my face is long and thin. I also have very fair skin and thin reddish brown hair.

I would like something low maintenance because I am going on a trip to Japan and every day we are there we have to be ready by 7:00am for the tour bus. Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated. :]What is a good short to medium hairstyle for an oblong face?

Well it kind of depends on your face shape.

Just make sure you specify you don't want volume.

Because the lady that cut my hair a while back tried to give me ';volume'; and there's a few pieces that are MUCH shorter so near the back of my hair on the top it's short and it looks ridiculous. I keep my hair up most of the time because of it.

choppiness and bangs will help alot! i thought u were a dude until i read ur question a second time... you have awesome hair eye and skin color, lovely! you may want to contour your brows a bit, and do a little nair on the upper lip, it will be like a total makeover!
yeah like your avatar! Make sure you print out a pic that looks like it. And talk to your stylist to make sure that it will be ok if you scrunch some gel into it and let it be wavy. It would be cute with side bangs.

I think you need more of a side fringe. Like a scene side fringe. A Light brown would suit your hair as well as your skin colour.

ok. there are soo many hairstyles. you can go to your salon and ask them good ones. my hairstyles you can do are long layer, angles, and side bangs on the right side of your face only. then you can use heat protecting spray and then straighten your hair. that would look really pretty. but, to make it less plain, put a headband in your hair, but make only the bangs not in the headband so that you can still see them. you can also clip the bangs in a bow if you dont wanna do the headband! thx and hoped i helped! You could get a beach wave perm. They are not like those spiral, gelled 80's perms. Instead they give you soft waves that look natural. That would be really cute on medium length hair!

I would recommend shorter layers with bangs (or side bangs) this always looks good, after you get it cut you can wear it down, in a ponytail, pigtails, bun, anything.

Medium hairstyle for 16 year old boy?

I have had short spiked hair pretty much all my life and im going to college soon and want to change my hair

i want a medium, maybe indie hairstyle

i have quite thick, light brown hair but i also have a cowlick at the front

my face is most like the square shape

can anyone give me any suggestions

If you are in the US, I suggest you go visit several college/university campuses and see the haircuts actually being worn, if that is your reason for changing your style. You will find that most guys just wear a regular haircut or an ivy league or crew cut and it varies somewhat during the year with shorter styles being popular in the hotter months.

I'm not sure but i think that a headband like in the middle of the head, very tight n with the hair put back would look amazing . You can try this kind of ';technique'; with little buckles or head hooks..they may look amazing too, i think. I'd been wanting to cut my hair short too, until I realized that short hair means more work for me. I'm mixed so my hair has never been the wash-and-go type. It's nice to be able to put it in a bun in minutes and call it a day. When I had short hair, I had to constantly style it and get it trimmed all the time. I would say if short hair works for your hair type, go for it!

I think a cute shorter style is the inverted bob. Tell your stylist you want an inverted bob but that you don't want the sides any shorter than your chin (maybe even a bit longer)

if you don't know what an inverted bob is, it's when the back is shorter than the front, the front (sides) comes down long a bit past the chin while the back is stacked and layered. I'll look for a photo and add it to my answer in a moment.

EDIT: Okay here are a few different ones but you can ask her to go longer or shorter depending what you like. The other thing about the inverted bob is you can have bangs or not have them.

i recently had the same problem. i had my hair done in a katie holmes style..not the bobbed one but she has it sort of shaggy bobbed now. every one gives me compliments on it, and i have never been happier. its soooo easy to style. i can also blow dry it in about 5 minutes instead of 30 minutes with my hair long. my favorite part is i can get up and take the kids to school and my hair looks just great in the morning when i get out of bed!
Layers layers layers. I'm not a mom, but I do know hair. You're ALWAYS safe with layers because, with me anyway, you don' even have to dry it for it to look good and it gives you an edge. Plus, layers looks good no matter what hairstyle you get :)

i have short hair as well- it is cut in an angle, long in the front and cut all the way up in back. its very easy, i ususally just twist up my bangs in 2 bobby pins, and scrunch the back of my hair, it takes 10 seconds, and i don't even need hairspray or blowdry

im going to suggest something from experience-if you are going short from long, go to a ';trendy'; salon. do not go to a salon where they don't keep up on todays trends. my sister had been getting her haircut for years at a hometown salon. never had any problems, until she went short. they perceived what she wanted as a ';punk'; style, and ended up literally shaving one side of her head. they were older and ';trendy'; to them meant ';punk. it makes a difference-so when you choose, look for younger girls or guys, that have in-style hair cuts. good luck!

I have had long hair for a long time now, and the ends of my hair are pretty damaged, I got a trim a few weeks ago but that didn't get rid of all the damaged ends. With an oval face you can wear just about any style. You see lots of celebrities going shorter but don't do it for that reason. Get rid of your damaged ends and you may end up liking the shorter style better. Sometimes long hair can hide a really pretty face and shorter hair opens it up.
yes. and if you have damaged hair a recommend cutting it shorter. i used to have long hair and when i cut it short the hair that grew back was so much more healthy. the 2nd last one is a nice style that you can still tie back and the last one is really nice to.

u should know that blow drying too much is not good for hair----and if ur hair is damaged at end it means ur havin split ends---and if u havent cut ur hair for a long time den i suggest thats the reason why theres hair breakage---the best solution talk to ur haircutter to cut ur hair in a way that (1) it looks good (2) and the most impotant one--that all the split ends r gone----

dont use too much of products on hair---try miler shapoos sometimes herbal one r very nice---if ur hair is oily kind den dont use conditioner---also if ur using conditioner---dont put it on the scalp---

try these basic tips for gor some months and see the changes:-

(1) oil ur hair 1-hour before shampooing---any kind of oil like almond---coconut--olive--castrol oil---dont leave the oil on ur hair for more than 1 hour

(2) use good shampoo tht suits ur hair---preferbly mild ones

(3) luke warm water for washing (straight from the tap)

(4) conditioner---not on the scalp area---if u have oily hair donot use conditioner

(5) a good hair serum--loreal,lakme-have good serums--

I am in the same predicament.....I have shoulder length hair and need to get the ends trimmed....it's not just about hair products, though....make sure you don't over style it, like don't use a flat iron every single day...and don't over wash it...like every day...condition the ends everyday. Should I get a Long hairstyle or a Medium hairstyle?

I am thinking of getting a haircut, but I don't know if I should let it grow out longer and then get it cut so I will have a long hairstyle or just get it cut now and have a medium length haircut. My face is Oval.Should I get a Long hairstyle or a Medium hairstyle?
Honey you have an oval shaped face which makes you very blessed in that you would look good in ANY hairstyle you chose! I say go ahead and get it cut, it is summer time, why bother with long hair? Heck if you really want to be adventurous (I usually am) go to the salon and let them pick a style for yah. You would be amazed how wonderful you could look in hairstyles you never would have chosen! Well, I think medium style would be nice. However, their is a website that lets you try on hairstyles and colors before you make a crucial decision. It's called clairol.com You have to be a member but you sign in and then click on the try it on studio and you will need a picture (studio style/face forward with hair back) and you can try hairstyles/colors on your own picture. grow it out and do as many cool hairstyles as u can and trust me,everyone will be complimanting u on ur long hair.i have expeerience.and wen ur hair is just too long to care for or it is just stupid to u,get it cut medium lenghth dat way u can do w/e hairstyle u relly want and all ur friends will love it even more!

i have an oval face and have had medium long and short hair i think it looks better with long hair but it is a lot of work ..... still get ur hair cut but tell them only cut off the dead ends where all the hair get notty when u brush it
Just go ahead and get it cut now -- it's hard not to after you've started thinking about it. If it's already medium length and you're only getting a little cut off anyway, then it's not really going to matter. You can still grow it long after you've given it more thought. Get some long layers and spice it up a little, then maybe you'll decide you like the medium lenght after all. Maybe even some highlights for summer if you're just getting bored with your hair.
I personaly like medium lenth. Sometimes long is just too long. Good luck im sure you will make the right choise

Medium Hairstyles below the Shoulder??

My hair has always been long and it's so dry right now and has so many split ends I'm just going to get it cut tomorrow. I wanna go shorter since it's summer and just kinda want a change. My face shape is kinda in between Square and Round. I have a strong jaw, but fat cheeks ha. I'm a pretty skinny girl so my head just kinda looks big haha.
